Books 4 Bright Futures is working to make a change in the opportunities that Sri Lankan children have as they approach their future. English literacy is one of the foremost barriers to future academic and job opportunities and Sri Lankan schools need help in their work to educate their students. Having English language children’s books in school libraries is the first step towards students working toward English fluency. Our team is working to provide those books and get them to the students who need them.
Meet the Students Learning from our Books
Since 2022 Books 4 Bright Futures has sent English language books to 22 schools in Sri Lanka, and we are currently working with new schools to send our future shipments. Over 11.000 books have arrived at these schools and we have helped to create English language libraries for students to use.
Our Books 4 Bright Futures Team
Collecting over 11,000 donated books and preparing them for shipment and delivery in Sri Lanka took a team of volunteers in both the US as well as in Sri Lanka. Bringing together this team has made this work possible and will allow Books 4 Bright Futures to grow in the future and serve more students. We welcome all interested individuals to join us in our work!
Our Community & Corporate Partners
Books 4 Bright Futures has found many partners along the way who believe in our goal and want to support our work. Local libraries have been essential to our success in finding books to send, and a grant from a corporate partner allowed us to manage the significant shipment costs to Sri Lanka.
