Sri Lankan students do not all share the same future opportunities, and rural students often have significantly less resources to achieve English literacy. English literacy is the key component to unlock post high school educational opportunities and without this language skill their path is much more difficult. Rural Sri Lankan schools need English books to teach the language skills and many of their school libraries cannot supply these books.

Childrens books are readily available in the US, and volunteer efforts can gather, sort and ship these resources to Sri Lankan schools. By developing partnerships with local libraries to provide books at little to no cost, and working to find corporate and other sponsors to help subsidize shipping costs, the problem can be solved.

Full libraries of English language childrens books in rural Sri Lankan schools. New and gently used books that students can use to learn basic language skills which can help them with post high school eduction and eventual job opportunities. The dream also hopes to build enough resources and volunteers to expand the reach of our organization into other countries where students face similar challenges.
